CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant)?

I just have a question about how to get started as a CNA. I live in CA just for reference.

Well, I’m currently in school right now to get into the nursing program but I would like to get some sort of experience while attending school at the same time. So i though it would be nice to be a CNA and work to get experience yet at the same time to pay off my college loans.

I came across this list online that listed all the places (health care centers, living homes, adult schools) to be certified as a CNA. However I’m just confused about how it all really works.

Do they have a special program just for the future CNAs? If I contact them, what would I say and how would I ask them about it to get started asap?

More importantly, if you’re a CNA, do you enjoy your job?

Please help me out! Thanks :)

I am a CNA and it is hugely rewarding. I totally loved the work but sadly over 1.5 years ago I sustained an injury that will not allow me to continue. Once you get your CNA do some job shadowing in different places like hospitals, nursing homes, home health, special needs homes for both adults and children. See where you fit in. It is a great way to earn extra money for college. the hours are flexible and CNA’s are hugely in demand. Many employers will bend over backwards to accommodate your school schedule. Contact your school and tell them what you would like to do and they can help you find the right program for you. Some adult education schools even have CNA programs. Contact your local school district and inquire about this. Some hospitals will even put you through school for the CNA as they are so desperate for them.
