<a href="http://www.onlineapproval.com.au">settlement loan</a>

I would talk to him again and have it recorded. See if you cant confront him about lying to you on tape. If you can get it on tape I would have him in allot of trouble yesterday!!! Get everything in writing you possibly can. If he admits he forgot to tell you or has the balls to just tell you to your face he told the lie but its your word against his at least you have him on tape :) Hope this helps and sorry for your luck with that guy

Yes you are being scammed. When ever a home is inspected there should be a written report of the findings. Second home inspectors are a great tool but as previously stated most home inspector do not have a clue of the building codes. Most states do not even require home inspectors to be licensed. In many states all you need is a clipboard and flash light and you to can be a home inspector. Contact the local building inspector and have them take a look at it. In most cases they will be able to provide a written approval of the repairs. Hope this helps.

I would be very distrustful of this guy. He cannot charge you for each visit and then only tell you after the fact. You should be able to tell him that since you were not aware of these charges you are not paying him until you have contacted your Better Business Bureau. II would deal with a home inspector and stay away from this contractor.

Absolutely, put it in writing.

The way inspections are SUPPOSED to work is, you hear about a problem, you fix it, the inspector inspects it again and signs off, you're done.

I'm not sure why this wasn't done by an appraiser or a home inspector. A contractor doesn't sound like an impartial party, especially if he's willing to help you out by doing the work himself.

Sounds like a scam.

You should get a home inspection done....by an inspector, not a contractor. We had our home built by a contractor and we were very lucky, because we loved him and he was awesome. Good Luck!

He should always put it in writing if he refuses tell him to get lost and get someone else. Also let your loan company know what's going on

Get an inspector to check it out -- they know the legal code better than contractors.
