I am looking for a loan to help my Business excel in this economy. In order to do so I must upgrade my equipment to meet and or exceed industry standards. I also would use the loan to pay off a my debt that has accrued during equipment failure, and untimely downtime. I am well set in the company that I am leased on with, and know that my job and Business is secure. I have looked into federal loans as well as grants, but have yet to find any that a truck driver/owner operator would qualify for. thanks in advance for the help!

There are no federal business grants, a very common misconception. The government does not give you money to start a business.

Right now, if you want a loan, you’re going to need a house. Home equity loans are pretty much the only ways to get a loan from a bank. You might be able to find it from other sources, but I doubt it. People don’t want to lend out money right now.

There are still a few banks that lend based on fico and income for businesses.
