My credit is poor and it has been at a stand still for at least 4 yrs now. I had 2 accounts that went bad when my financial situation changed so they were cancelled and now I do not have open credit accounts and cannot qualify for new ones! What can I do? I know about secured cards and that is something I am looking into but what else can I do? Do cell phone companies report to credit bureaus? Any ideas????
I meant do cell phone companies report your payment history to the credit bureaus…. I knew they used them to decide if they are going to give you service.

I’ve always just made it by until last September when I was laid off. I was unable to pay my credit cards. It’s now months later and I have a job, making much less. But I have HUGE late fee’s on top of the bills. There is no way I can ever catch up with even one card with how much they are now asking.

I desperately want to start paying this off.

I’m considering going to CCCS but don’t know if that’s the best solution.
Do cc card companies ever work with you?
Should I file?

I’m at a loss at what to do. THe total amount is about 10k and getting bigger all the time.

I was billed at $250/ hr including charges for the free consult. I disputed the refund indicating I didn’t sign a contract. The attorney admitted as stated on the consult estimate that a separate contract should have been provided to sign upon retaining his services & refunded $500. A contract beyond the initial consult was never provided or signed. Am I entitled to the full amount?

I made the mistake of trying to pay my credit cards as long as I could instead of stop paying 2 months beforehand to use the money for a bankruptcy attorney. I can’t go back on that one and my cards ar 3 months late and one is turned over to an attorney already. I have no money, actually 2 months away from not even having rent money so I have no money to pay anymore (I paid a small payment for a while to them but that didn’t satisfy them) and have no money to file chapter 7. I called the legal assistance numbers for Texas and they don’t handle bankruptcy anymore. Why do you have to be a murderer, illegal alien, child molester, rapist, etc, to get free legal assistance in Texas? Every private organization that I was refered only handles illegals and real criminals?
I have no money, no car, no assets, and give money to my child who lives with my mom, so I have nothing for them to take and only make 600 month currently (my employer won’t let me work any extra hours and I got in trouble for working 15 minutes extra last week (I had a customer so I couldnl’t just go clock out).

to answered number 4, my life changed completely last year after being stable for 14 years. Lost my family, home, job, etc. Paid my cards on a timely basis for 14 years and did have to depend on them for things like dental and medical (no insurance), clothes, and other of life’s necessities. Having no transportation limits job opportunities as does not being able to get out after dark because of the gang activity in my neighborhood. And no I can’t move, I have a lease and can’t afford to live anywhere else anyway.
