Has anyone used Rest report program for mortgage modification?
We’ve been trying to have our mortgage lender to review our loan for a modification since this April and there has been just run around. Our mortgage lender made us just run in circles for fast few months for more updated personal documents. We are strongly feel that they are doing this to postpone any modification. While we were looking for some solutions, we came a cross with this guy who says he can submit a “rest report” behalf of us to our lender and it will most likely guarantee a permanent modification. He is asking for $500 for the service.
Is is legitimate? What is rest report program?
Any tips how to get the permanent mortgage modification would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

My husband and I are looking into a home equity loan or refinancing our existing home loan. We own a doublewide on 4 1/2 acres that has been converted to real property.
Which is better? A home equity loan, or refinance our existing loan? Where do we start? What should we know? And what we should be careful of?

my husband got himself in a big mess - him and his ex bought a house together. Fast forward 4 years, my husband and our girls live in the house, pay the mortgage, property taxes, etc. His credit royally sucks, and they agreed to keep the mortgage in her name until his recovers. He is the deeded owner. I guess my question - Countrywide sent out that letter to check coverage, and of course the name on the policy doesn’t match the name on the mortgage. He is freaking out… I guess my question is, is it a problem that they don’t match, or is all that matters is that there is coverage?
the mortgage is in the ex-girlfriend’s name - the insurance is in my husband (deeded owner)’s name -

Can a finance company use someone elses car for collateral on a personal loan?

nicki b asked:

My father took out a personal loan through a finance company last year in 2006. The finance company wanted a car for collateral and he used my car title even though the car title is in my name. He passed away in April of 2007, I can not afford to pay the finance company the payment amount they were charginghim on the loan on a monthly basis. They are threatining to take my car if I can not pay it even though the loan is in my father’s name and the car title is in my name only. He did not leave a will and his house was under mortgage so there is no estate. Is there anything I can do to save MY car from repossession. I do understand that paying the bill for the loan each month is the way to do that but I recieve SSI and do not have as much income as my father had. Please help?

I have been divorced for 5 years and my credit is being dragged thru the mud for the fact that I never went thru a lawyer to get all the details worked out of the divorce. i.e. division of property, etc. I just wanted out as fast as possible. Since then, my ex has been living in the house we bought while married and has been making the payments with the money she gets from me every month. Until recently there has been no problems. Since my name is still on the mortgage I get updates from the bank and I found out that the payments are 120 days behind and getting close to the foreclosure stage. We dont talk so I cant find out what the problem is (nor would she tell me if I did ask) and my credit is diving fast. I’m not familiar with the legal aspect of this so I was wondering. If I refinance under my name only, can I force her out of the house under texas law since it was not awarded to either party during the divorce?

My mortgage company is ruining my life! HELP?

Posted by admin | Renting Real Estate | Monday 4 July 2011 8:26 am
I’m so crafty, I make people asked:

My husband and I considered getting our taxes put into an escrow account so the mortgage company would then pay our taxes. They sent us the work up of what our payment would be and it was very high and we did not feel that the tax amounts were correct–no STAR. So we said try again, and again it was incorrect. Then we said we do not want to move forward with setting up an escrow account because a.) it’s been taking too long and b.) there seems to be a discrepency so forget it, we’ll continue to pay on our own. Well they decided to add it into our mortgage payment anyway. I’ve been disputing this for months and have done everything they’ve said (letters, call back by X date) except pay the $3,500 they “say” I owe them because of this mistake of having it added into our payment without our permission. How can I get this resolved FAST? I’m afraid we’ll lose our house over this error that they keep telling me will only be a few more weeks.
i don’t believe so because we’ve had the mortgage with them for a couple years and never had an escrow account before.
NoParole and MKD you are both right on target. My problem is that I first initiated this, but never agreed to adding it into my loan. I do feel like I’m being set up for FAILURE!

How to choose a mortgage company? as the rate going down I’m checking the option to refinance my house?

I got offers from various loaning companies, which things I should check in order to know the following:
1. If this is a good company to work with
2. If it is good for me to move my mortgage to them (other than closing costs and rate)
I got good rates from one of these companies (5.99%) and it sounds like better deal than the one I have now, but I’m wondering if there are any hidden costs or if there’s anything I should be checking about these companies
