I posted a question regarding collections calling about a debt that had been charged off from Chase. The company calling is Client Services Inc. States that they didn’t buy the debt from Chase they’re collecting for them period.
I researched debt consolidation companies, and called friends who have dealt with this, and CareOne Credit Counsel was ultimately choosen. They were very kind and professional. At the end of the counsel session, going over our budget etc…we set everything up, and they gave me a number for collections to call if they called again.
Ofcourse they called, I told the collector what we had done and that CareOne would be paying the original creditor. That we wanted to pay this off and this was the only way we could. They stated they wouldn’t work with them, no way, and we had to pay this off now, or face legal action.
They say they work for Chase, they have the charge off turned over to them. Not bought but turned over. I don’t know who to believe here. The careone credit solutions who states they do this all the time and gave me proof, or the collections people who say, they gave me a settlement, but never gave me anything in writing and even now don’t want to since I said we don’t have the money right now.
What do I do here??? This is our only ding on our credit. We are military and on a SLIM budget. I just wonder if someone out there has dealt with a situation like this? What to do, who to believe???

I paid over 10,000 cash for the car, got a bill of sale. got 20 cay temp plates, insured car but seller still has not sent title. He states he paid the bank loan off but they had to wait ten days, etc etc. It has been one month. my temp plates expired and I sold my other car and can not drive legally. What do I do now???? He seems like such a nice guy.

My brother is in the financial field and he’s always going on and on about how someone’s credit score is a good indicator of their personality in general. He insists that people who have bad credit are more likely to be irresponsible in other aspects of life. He says that people with bad credit are more likely to be unfaithful, shouldn’t be trusted to own a gun or babysit children because they are more likely to be irresponsible. He tells me that this is the reason that people with bad credit pay higher insurance rates because they are just not responsible.

So, I guess after years of hearing this from him it has sort of brain washed me. I find myself really looking down on people with bad credit. The other day I was renting a car and the poor woman in front of my had two credit cards declined so she had to go home and get proof of address and pay with a money order. Boy did I bad mouth her when I got into the car with my wife and kids. Then I was at the mall and a guy in front of me had his credit card declined. Although I would never say anything outloud in my mind I was thinking “what a low class MF, he can’t even pay his bills on time”.

And now, more than ever, that the economy has gotten bad I have really begun to despise people who have bad credit. I feel like they messed up the economy by buying too much and putting too much on credit and then getting off scott free. I am sure many of them are good people.

But even in commercials for the Triple Score monitoring they claim that the guy in the commercial should have had his fiances credit checked before he married her because they wound up living in her parents’ basement.

So is credit a true indicator of the person as a whole?

Whenever I called her insurance to ask the status of my claim they keep telling me that they are waiting to her back from the insured and it is possible that they can deny my claim if the insured doesn’t respond. How does that make sense when they have a copy of the police report stating that the lady hit my parked car. This is clearly wrong. What do I need to do to get my car fix.

We owe on our 1st mortgage is $52,000 at 6.25%, and our HELOC is $105,000 at 8.19%. Fixed. The estimated value of the house is between $110,000. to $150,000. I would like to combine and lower my interest rate, but if that is not possible, how can I lower my HELOC. I would at least like to lower my $730.00 interest on the HELOC. What are my options if any?
